Planning an Adventure

Its the last Bank holiday of the year and a great way to say goodbye to the summer, hopefully not the sunshine though. Here are my top 3 things to remember when your planning an adventure.

STAY HYDRATED

Now we all know all too well that we need to drink more water, but hey we are only human and especially when we are out and about its easy to head straight for the fizz fridge. So why not try adding some fruit to a bottle of water to take with you. Choose your favourite fruits slice and pop into drinks bottle add some water and leave for at least an hour or ideally overnight. Children in particularly LOVE this idea and really enjoy chopping up the fruit themselves. Or for an added vitamin C punch add a teaspoon of Baobab to a water bottle, guaranteed to keep you skipping from landmark to landmark.

BE SNACK PREPARED

How many of us have planned a lovely day out, downloaded a map, checked the tubes and off we go only to get half way there and be struck by hunger? This is when we are prone to make the wrong unhealthy choices and these choices will effect the rest of the day ahead making us feel groggy and even worse guilty and annoyed with ourselves.

So be  snack prepared, make yourself some healthy snacks like some easy hummus, with carrots and cucumber or a protein ball or two, then by all means stop of for a hot drink somewhere,  a takeaway green tea and a chocolatey spirulina date and coconut  ball is a perfect pick me up.

Having something to snack on to get you to where your going then you will be fuelled enough to make the right choice as to where you stop of for lunch, or if your like me you have that planned too!

STAY HAPPY – EMBRACE CHANGE

So you’ve got your map, checked out the tubes and packed a healthy snack. Then the unexpected happens the heavens open and the rain comes pouring down threatening to ruin your white converse. Shit happens and the best way to deal with it is to embrace it. Sometimes things happen so that we change our paths and enjoy something completely different that we didn’t even know existed. So if plans change unexpectedly just go with it don't get hung up and let it ruin the rest of the day.

Now go out and have an adventure!
